Nicole Richie's Wedding Dress

(Well one of them at least!)
In case you didn't know Nicole Richie married Joel Madden this past Saturday! I found this picture of her in one of her wedding dresses (there were three!)

This dress is designed by Marchesa and it is gorgeous! Marchesa has definitely been in the fashion news more and they showed an amazing collection for s/s 2011, they are a huge designer to look out for.

I really like this dress because it changed my mind about white lace. Lace I always find is tricky, only certain people can pull it off. Black lace to me, is sexy almost lingerie-ish so it's more a night time or going out look. White lace to me leans on Madonna 80s look, as if you only needed a string of pearls and some cut off gloves to be her. This dress though, just made me ooooh and awe. I love the lace and the long sleeves! A lot of wedding designers are leaning away from strapless dresses because they are bored of it (aka Vera Wang) with Kate Middleton's wedding, the predictions are that she would go for lace and long sleeve, so it's kinda cool to see that connection right here. The fullness of the bottom I find is on the right side of theatrical; that it works. This is really elegant dress it worked perfectly for her. Nicole Richie is increasingly becoming a style icon, I think this is just one more positive point to her. I love the hair and makeup too!

Anyways this blog was not super important, just wanted to share a gorgeous dress with you!

Review: Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle

I first heard about this product from a beauty you tuber that I watch all the time (allthatglitters21) and she said that it's the perfect conditioning treatment for your hair. I was intrigued, so while visiting my mom we went to ULTA and I bought the treatment for her for her birthday. Since she's my mom and she's lovely, she let me use it a couple of times. It really is amazing! That was this past summer.
So when winter rolled around and my hair started frizzing out of control, I was desperate for a deep conditioner. Finally I found the 3 minute miracle at my school's drug store and bought it immediately! I bought it for 4.99 and I've never seen it listed for more than that. But! I haven't been able to find it easily, it's not at shoppers and ULTA is not in Canada. This really is the perfect remedy to dried out winter hair, so when you find it, buy it!
How it works is when you're showering you work the product into the hair, I tend to focus on the ends because that's where it's driest. Then you can either wait 3 minutes, or just continue with the rest of your bathing; wash your face, etc. Then you rinse out the product first with warm water then with cold water to seal the moisture in the cuticles. You'll feel a difference as soon as you towel dry your hair. Awesome product, definitely one to purchase and repurchase.

5 things to be Thankful for this Winter

After being snowed in for a number of days, there are definitely a few things that I have so happy to have!

1. Sorels
Now this is not the exact pair I own, but I'm sure you get the point. All throughout high school I struggled with boots, none were fashionable or kept your feet warm enough or kept the water out. Sorels do everything! My feet have never been cold or wet in these things! Now when I first got them I was skeptical about their look, but I love them so much and they've actually become super popular this year! I'm sure that these will be the new uggs, at least for those that deal with a real winter season.

2. Fuzzy Socks

Oh gosh, I live in these! I hate when your toes get so cold it feels like they just may fall off. These socks keep your feet so warm and cozy, definitely go buy five pairs if you haven't already.

3. Tea

Well this is a no-brainer, I'm obsessed with tea. But one thing that I don't like about summer is that you can never really enjoy a nice hot cup of tea, you'll just end up a hot mess afterwards. My marks and spencer's tea is running low and this a huge cause for alarm! It's a tea from the UK that is honestly the best tea ever, so delicious! I'm also loving earl grey with vanilla and MOJITO tea! Yes, its true your favourite summer cocktail is now in tea form. :) enjoy!

4. Fur trapper hats

Where I am, it's been snowing like crazy and now it's freezing rain. For those of us that straighten their hair, this is a clear issue. Fur Trapper hats keep your entire head dry and your hair straight! Lifesaver.

5. Parties

An excuse to wear those rich lovely colours and look amazing! Also another reason that gets my butt to the gym.

Review: OPI's "Glitzerland"

As promised here is another colour from the the Swiss collection launched in early fall. As you guys know already this is my favourite collection by OPI to date. This colour is beautiful soft gold with a subtle glitter. I think that this one is perfect for the holiday season! Yes, of course everyone will go for that rich red (I have one too so I'm guilty too) but gold is unexpected even though it's a traditional holiday colour. Love love love this! Again the quality of OPI is there and it only takes 2 coats to get a full colour. Definitely purchase this if you have a ton of parties to go!

One combo I really like is a rich red on your toes and this gold on your fingers, it looks marvelous!

Review: OPI's "Cuckoo for this colour"

Let me start off by saying that I am absolutely in love with this collection from OPI, this colour is from OPI's Swiss collection. There is a huge variety of colours in it, it fits the niche of fall/winter colours marvelously! Least to say this one is the only full bottle that I own from this collection, but I have the other ones in smaller forms so be prepared to see those later!
This picture doesn't do the polish justice, but "Cuckoo for this color" is dark forest green with a bit of shimmer to it with hints of blue. It looks black in the photo but you can always tell in person that the colour is green, trust me I hate black nail polish so I won't paint my nails anything close to black. The polish only needs about 2 coats, but I applied three in this picture. It dries smoothly so long as you don't touch it! It doesn't really chip which a quality that I find is universal with OPI colours, you're really paying for the quality and it shows. If you love green and you love the dark rich winter-y colour definitely pick this one up! Or any other of the Swiss collection! This one is definitely one of my favorites. I'll post a full entry on the collection later.

Red Hot Blush

If you read my blog regularly or if you know me personally, you will know that I'm absolutely obessed with MAC! I love it! The worst thing for me now is that I am banned from purchasing any more makeup until Christmas, which is hard for me. Before the ban however, I was allowed to make one last purchase so I could get a glimpse of the new tartan collection from MAC (which is to die for btw).
In the winter one makeup product that I cannot live without is blush, besides the fact that I'm ghostly pale; I love the look of blush in the winter. I love how it adds to "I've been walking in the snow all day long, I'm so relieved to be indoors" image. So I bought "Frankly Scarlet" from the collection. It's hot red pink that has hues of blue in it. Don't let the blue hue throw you off, it's actually a new trend that I'm noticing more and more. Blue adds more depth to your skin tone and once you try it, it's hard to resist.
This blush looks really good as long as you don't cake it on, I usually wipe a bit on my hands first then sweep it gently on my apples to my temples (wind blown look) using a fluffy blush brush. It definitely took trial and error to get used to this one so just be aware. I would recommend this blush because it's a perfect hue for winter, the name is fun and the colour is absolutely lovely. :)
This picture doesn't really do the colour justice, so I recommend looking at it in stores.
